I can't count the number of conversations I've had recently with people who are frustrated by not being able to navigate the internet the way they hear others doing it. Recently one person complained about not being able to instruct an on-line vendor to send the item she was purchasing to an address other than her own. Finally, after spending way too much time trying to figure it out, she gave up and selected another vendor whose "ship to " button" was where she could see it and she could continue with her purchase. Anybody out there know what a DNS is? Some do, but I sure don't. Do you know the difference between a web host and a domain provider? Me neither. But you need to know this stuff if you are to try to publish your own web site. Domains, hosts, DNS, wordpress and a million other technical terms are likely to be over the heads of most people who use their computers everyday. Don't feel bad - you're in good company.
